At Sri Annai Rani School, regular attendance is essential for academic success and personal growth. However, we understand that circumstances may arise when students need to take leave. To ensure smooth functioning and accountability, we have established clear leave rules and procedures.
Students are expected to maintain at least 85% attendance throughout the academic year to ensure consistency in learning and participation in school activities.
Prolonged absenteeism without valid reasons may result in the student being ineligible for exams, promotions, or participation in co-curricular activities.
If a student needs to take leave for more than three consecutive days, a leave application must be submitted in advance, signed by the parent or guardian.
Planned leave includes events like family functions, medical appointments, or other personal reasons that are known ahead of time.
Unplanned Leave:In the case of an emergency or illness, a leave application signed by a parent or guardian must be submitted on the student's return to school.
For medical leave exceeding three days, a doctor’s note or medical certificate is required.
If a student is suffering from a contagious illness (such as chickenpox, measles, etc.), they must remain at home until fully recovered. A doctor’s certificate must be submitted before resuming classes.
For major medical conditions requiring long-term leave, parents should inform the school in writing, and appropriate documentation from a healthcare provider must be provided.
No leave will be granted during examination periods unless there is a medical emergency. In such cases, a medical certificate from a recognized doctor is mandatory for leave approval.
Students missing an exam without prior approval or valid reason will be marked absent, and retests will not be conducted.
Students are expected to be punctual and arrive at school before the start of classes. Arriving late consistently may lead to disciplinary action.
In exceptional cases, parents may request early departure, but a written request must be submitted to the class teacher or administration, and the student must be picked up by an authorized guardian.
Special leave for events like religious observances, sports competitions, or extra-curricular activities (participating outside the school) may be granted with prior approval from the Principal.
The school encourages participation in inter-school competitions and events, and attendance requirements may be relaxed in such cases with prior notification.
If a student is absent for 10 consecutive school days without informing the school, their name may be removed from the school rolls. Re-admission will be subject to the Principal's discretion and availability of seats.
Format: The leave application must clearly mention the student’s name, class, section, the reason for leave, and the duration of the leave. The parent or guardian must sign the application.
It is the student's responsibility to make up for any missed classwork, homework, or assignments during the period of absence. Teachers will assist in providing the necessary materials and guidance for catching up.
In case of an emergency during school hours (such as an illness or injury), the school administration will contact the parent or guardian immediately to ensure timely medical care and assistance.
